Yesterday, the Computer Science of Modern Education Society’s Nowrosjee Wadia College Arts, Science, Pune 01 hosted approximately 200 alumni for their 40 year anniversary. I am a 95 BCS, 97 MCS pass from tha department and was there with my classmates.
As part of the event, we hosted a ‘Speed Mentoring’ session for the existing students.
In every question, I could see a missing mentor and its impact. I hope the NEP can integrate industry mentorship program into mandatory requirements so that colleges leverage their alumni more.
Currently, students fall into the ‘training institute acting as a company’ for internship. Which adds no value to the student, and is just an additional cost on the already burdened parents.
