I have been saying the same thing to my mentees for over a year now. These are undergraduate students.
Right now, I am teaching a course in a University, and also a batch of my CS Masterclass. And am incorporating ChatGPT or their preferred tool in that course.
The education system is still not equipped to handle this disruption, and that is going to be the key to adapting.
I have been using ChatGPT, Bard, Cody AI, Bito, and a few more, for over 3 months now. And I feel that we are going back to a place where a few passionate people, with the aptitude for their profession, will be able to get great results with these tools.
More like the calculator or carbon copy or electronic word processor moments.
This is going to enable innovation and flow of talent into other areas of life, and business. The next 10 years are going to see a burst of innovation. In everything.
Are we open enough to accept it. Is our education system in a state to enable it ? Is our hiring or interview process ready ? Are the parents of our children ready to understand the change coming ?
I ponder. And i try to enable as much as i can.
