Most people who I talk to do not understand the qualitative value of learning. They inly think about the quantitative part.

So, as in my case, I learn more every day, in every area, using every tool that is available to me, at an aggressive pace. This allows me to be more productive and achieve more in less time.

But, when negotiating consulting and freelance gigs, people only look at years of experience and put a price tag.

It is sad that ‘premium’ is clubbed with ‘commodity’.

So, I would extend the quote on the attached post to say that my productivity in completing the task is based on the quality of my learning. And the customers should be willing to pay for the value of the task (to them) they want completed. Not the amount of time I spend on it.
