Friends always first !!

When I stood in the queue to check my marks for graduation, I did that for all my friends, and started celebrating. Every one had great results, and we were a proud group of people. But when someone asked me about my marks, I realised. I had not checked those. I knew the marks for every other person the 8 member group, except for mine.
I always feel happy when the students I mentor achieve great heights. Greater than things I had done when I was their age. Proud to be an enabler.
I am happy when my colleagues get a patent, or a double promotion. I am happy to have been part of their life journeys.
I was reminded just today. That every time I make a suggest, or propose a best practice, at my work place, it always benefits someone else. Never me, personally. As a leader, this is important for me. I should never have a self interest, no conflict of interest.
Always happy when I see everyone around me happy. I want to live amongst happy friends. Thats my ideal work place. My happy place.
