The reality, that most colleges don’t tell their students, the companies don’t tell their campus recruits, and the hiring companies don’t tell their interns.

Expectation setting is so important, specially early in the career / engagement. No substitute for that.

My mentees know this as they learn. Focus in the basics, is where we go. And then they can pick up anything on their own.
