I have been using Docker containers hosted on DigitalOcean for development using Visual Studio Code Remote Container extension for a while now.

Works like a charm.

Am going to shift to that model for development in the future. So, I can buy a smaller, cheaper, dev machine. And get the latest and high performant configuration that my product needs.
